Use Case 1: Manage Radiology Order

Description

A physician, a radiologist or a radiologic technologist (radiographer) can add, search or modify/update a radiology order.

Actors

  • Physician: examine patients, obtain medical histories, diagnose illnesses, or prescribe and administer treatment for people suffering from injury or disease.
  • Radiologist: is a physician who has specialized training in obtaining and interpreting medical images, which makes him or her an imaging expert.
  • Radiologic Technologist: is a medical professional who creates medical images of the human anatomy to aid radiologists and other doctors diagnose and treat illness and injury.

Basic Flow

  1. The physician fills a radiology order form.
  2. The system stores the radiology order in the OpenMRS database.
  3. The radiologic technologist searchs a radiology order requested by the patient.
  4. The system shows all the information related to the radiology order to the radiologic technologist.
  5. The radiologic technologist update the radiology order and generates the radiology report adding the image(s).
  6. The system stores the radiology report in the database.
  7. The radiologist retrieves the radiology report.
  8. The system shows all the updated information related to the radiology report.
  9. The radiologist fills a diagnosis field.
  10. The system updates the radiology report.
  11. The physician retrieves the radiology report to explain it to the patient.
  12. The system shows all information related to the radiologyn report.
