What is Design Forum?
OpenMRS Design Forums are one-hour calls twice each week for the purpose of discussing any design-related issues within the OpenMRS Community. The calls are open to anyone and routinely attended by experienced developers and clinical informatics specialists. We encourage all members of the community to join our design calls that are of interest and helpful to them. The design call is apt at several stages of design:
At the start of a design process, bring your ideas for review by the broader community to get validation of your ideas and some feedback on directions to go.
In the middle of a project, share your prototypes and get feedback from experienced developers and clinicians in a higher bandwidth format than email or IRC.
When you encounter important decision points and see a few choices, share some brief background and your options and get helpmaking the decision.
How do you get your topic on a Design Forum agenda?
Simply reply post your proposed topic at om.rs/designtime. Please try to include these 4 pieces of information:
Title. Short descriptive title for agenda item.
Description. Context for people who may not be directly involved in the work. Include links to JIRA issue(s), Talk discussion(s), wiki page(s), or other relevant resources for the discussion. It’s also helpful to summarize your specific goals for the discussion (what question(s) you are trying to answer).
Required attendee(s). Who you believe must join the call for it to be productive. We’ll use this to schedule the call when they can join.
Desired timing. Next available slot? Or is there a specific design forum you’d like to target.

Mondays 4:00pm-5:00pm UTC (excluding OpenMRS holidays). See UTC translated to other time zones.
Wednesdays from 2:00pm-3:00pm Eastern Time (excluding OpenMRS holidays, and changing with US Daylight Saving Time). Translate US Eastern Time to other time zones.
