Google Summer of Code 2020 Quick start guide

Hi everyone welcome to the community,

Google Summer of Code 2020 has been announced officially by Google. Applications for interested open source project organizations open on January 15, 2020, and student applications open March 16. The GSoC 2020 is planned to run between March 27, 2020 - Aug 17, 2020

Students need to wait until officially OpenMRS accepted as a mentoring organization for GSoC 2020. After that only, We will release a list of projects which will be supposed to carry on the GSoC 2020 under our community mentorships.

Till then you can try OpenMRS Warm-up practices for GSoC 2020 here.

Follow these steps to get started with OpenMRS.

STEP 1:-

Create an OpenMRS ID at this link (After creating OpenMRS ID you will be able to use all OpenMRS Services).

STEP 2:-

Go to this link and create a Help Desk case for access to JIRA. (We don't grant access directly to avoid spams.)

STEP 3:-

After you get the access, Join OpenMRS Talk here which a community platform where you can ask different questions and help others also & OpenMRS Issues here where all the JIRA tickets are created and solved.

STEP 4:-

Join OpenMRS telegram (https://t.me/OpenMRS) and OpenMRS IRC chat (#OpenMRS & #gsoc on irc.freenode.net).

Step 5:-

Read Developers Guide here.

You are ready to go now.
