Objectives of this Guide

In this guide, you will learn:

  • The critical elements of the OpenMRS Electronic Medical Record (EMR): architecture, how to set up, install, configure, backup, update, and more!

  • The technical details of running an OpenMRS installation(s) for many sites.

  • That you are not alone: You are not alone as an implementer: There is a whole world-wide community behind this open source EMR who help each other with questions and support, and who work on new feature ideas together.

  • Examples: This guide contains examples from one or more implementations to provide example practical guidance for implementers to learn from.

Target Audience

This guide is specifically for technical members of partners/organizations who are supporting new or existing OpenMRS set-ups and/or deployment.

This may mean developers, IT teams, engineers, and technical business analysts.

Note: This guide assumes that technical readers - especially developers - have an pre-existing understanding of the following tools:
