Running Reports (Step-By-Step Guide)
Running Reports
To get to the “Run a Report” menu, click 'Reporting' on the main toolbar above, then 'Run a Report' on the second toolbar.
If your Run a Report menu has no reports, then you will have to build a report first. See Building Reports Inside OpenMRS or Building Reports for Developers for step-by-step instructions.
Row-Per-Domain Object Reports
Row-Per-Patient Report Step-By-Step
1 | Select the report you would like to run under 'Run a Report'. In this case, be sure that the report you are running is a Row-Per-Domain Object Report (for example, a Simple Row-Per-Patient Report).
2 | Choose the output format of your report. For more information, see 'Designing Reports'. In this case, we choose 'Excel' for an excel table. Then, click 'Run Report'.
3 | Your report should be saved as an excel file. Here is an example of what a Simple Row-Per-Patient report displaying patient IMB ID, Birthdate, Gender, Treatment Status, Evaluation Status, and Surgery Status looks like when run by Excel. |
Indicator Reports
Web-Based Period Indicator Report Step-By-Step
1 | Select the report you would like to run under 'Run a Report'. In this case, be sure that the report you are running is an indicator report. In this case, we choose a Period Indicator Report, the Heart Failure Report.
2 | Because this is a period indicator report, you need to input the parameters of Start date, End date, and Location. If this were a custom indicator report, then you would only need to input the parameters that you set within the report (i.e., if you only had endDate as a parameter, then you would only pass in endDate at this dialog).
3 | Choose the output format of your report. For more information, see 'Designing Reports'. In this case, we choose Indicator Web Report, which is only available for indicator reports. |
|
4 | Your report should be be outputted on the same browser window. Note that the results for each question are a link itself to the cohort members for that question. For example, to see the cohort of Male Farmers, you can click the link to the 'Farmers Males Question'. Once you get to the cohort, you can navigate each patient's dashboard by clicking on the patient ID. |
