UGANDA VISA INFORMATION 2025

Visa Policy

All foreign nationals wishing to enter Uganda (except those from visa-exempt countries) must obtain an electronic visa (e-Visa) online in advance through the e-Visa Application portal.

Passengers issued an e-Visa must print and carry the electronic confirmation when traveling

Visa-exempt Countries

Citizens of countries part of the East African Community, plus the following countries (Expand List below) and territories may enter Uganda without a visa for stays up to 90 days (unless otherwise noted):

  1. Antigua and Barbuda

  2. Bahamas

  6. Burundi

Required Documents for e-Visa Application

When applying online for the e-Visa, applicants must upload:

  1. Passport biodata page copy (showing at least six months’ validity)

  2. Recent passport-type photograph

  3. Yellow Fever vaccination certificate

  4. Letter of invitation with clear address and clearly stating business in Uganda (Only for Business - Meetings/Conference Visa Category)

  5. Immigration status of host if individual (Only for Business - Meetings/Conference Visa Category)

  6. Tour plan (Only for Tourism Visa Category)

  7. Travel itinerary, including arrival/departure details (Only for Tourism Visa Category)

  8. Hotel booking or reservation (if any other accommodation, provide an address) (Only for Tourism Visa Category)

Entry Requirements

Passport

  • Valid for at least six months beyond the date of arrival.

  • Contains at least one blank page for immigration stamps.

Vaccination

All travelers (regardless of nationality) must present a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate upon arrival.

Additional

  • Contact information, email address and phone number

  • Details of your arrival and departure itinerary 

  • Accommodation booking confirmation(s)

  • Credit card, debit card or other means of payment

e-Visa Application Process

  1. Go to https://visas.immigration.go.ug/ .

  2. Select the visa or permit category required.

  3. Complete the electronic form and upload supporting documents.

  4. Submit payment using a credit/debit card or other accepted methods.

  5. Check Application Status online; additional information may be requested and can be uploaded via the portal.

Processing Time

Most e-Visa applications are processed within 3 working days, but applicants should allow extra time for peak travel periods or if additional documentation is requested.
